Ogun State government says its efforts towards improving agricultural sector through the provision of modern equipment, improved seedlings and other incentives will boost food production and the economy of the State
Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Adewale Osinowo made this known while hosting members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Federated Chapel at his office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta
Osinowo opined that given required priority to agriculture would transform the economy of the State as raw materials for production could be sourced locally.
‘’We have ready market for our farm produce. As our infrastructural development is attracting more industries into the State, we are also working towards providing raw materials for their production’’, he explained.
He however, assured the journalists of government’s readiness to collaborate with them on information management so as to positively enlighten the public on government activities, saying government doors were open for clarification on its policies and programmes.
He implored them to be accurate in their reportage so as not to misinform the public on the programmes and activities of government.
Responding, the Chairman of the Chapel, Comrade Adeniyi Adeloye thanked the Commissioner for giving them audience, assuring that his members would ensure balanced reportage in projecting government activities.
