Nigerian Youths have been charged to be wary of politicians who may want to engage them to breach the peace of the society for selfish reasons, as the 2019 general elections draws near.

The Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun made the call during the Opening and Swearing-in Ceremony of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Batch “C” stream 1 Orientation Course, held at the NYSC Orientation Camp, Sagamu International Stadium, Ogun State.

Governor Amosun, who was represented by the State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Afolabi Afuape, said youths, as the hope and future leaders of Nigeria must be ready to show sense of responsibility and decorum at all times, urging them to take activities at the orientation camp serious, as it will determine their performance during the service year.

“My dear Corps members, let me use this opportunity to charge you all to imbibe leadership qualities of perseverance, discipline and peaceful co–existence with your fellow corps members who have come from different socio–cultural and religious background. Make the best use of this opportunity by contributing positively to the development of our dear State“, the Governor said.

Also speaking at the event, the State Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Mosunmola Dipeolu, urged prospective Corps members to be law abiding and guide against any unlawful act that could jeopardise their future.

On her part, the State Director of the NYSC, Mrs. Josephine Bakare, commended the kind gesture of the State Government for providing an enabling environment for the smooth take–off of the three-week programme.
