The state controller of NCS, Comptroller Micheal Agbara a press release made available to vision update said that the command generates #1.129BN, Seized 67 Cars, 6,015 bags of rice
The Controller said that in a quest to sustain the tempo of aiding the Federal Government policy on agricultural development in the area of boosting local rice production, “the Command have redoubled its efforts by committing a seizure of forty-four thousand, six hundred and fifteen (44,615) bags of rice (50kg each) as at the month ended November 30, 2018 which is almost multiple of twenty-one thousand seven hundred and eighty-nine (21,789) bags of rice seized from January to December, 2017”.
The Command noted that “the above success story is a blow to smugglers and also to a sound warning to those who have dubious intention to exploit the avenue of yuletide period for smuggling. Our Men are strategically positioned to decisively truncate such malicious intentions”.
According to the release, “the Comptroller General of Customs has graciously approved four (4) brand new patrol vehicles to the Command so as to complement the existing ones for effective manning of our borders against security, economic and environmental saboteurs”.
He commended the collaboration and tremendous assistance the command always receive from the sister Agencies, Traditional leaders, eminent personalities and some host communities including members of the press in their drive against smuggling in the overall interest of Nigeria.
