The Ogun State chapter of Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) on Monday urge the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Dapo Abiodun to explain within 48 hours, reasons why there are “discrepancies” in his level of education that he stated in the forms he submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the 2015 and forthcoming 2019 general election.
There was alleged discrepancies in the certificates submitted by Abiodun to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) when he vied for senatorial seat in 2015 and now that he is contesting for governorship seat in year’s election.
Addressing journalists in Abeokuta, the Chairman of IPAC, Abayomi Arabambi vowed that the council would seek a legal redress if the embattled APC candidate fails to clear the within 48 hours.
Arabambi said the umbrella of parties had written a petition to the security agencies in this regard.
“It may interest you to know that in 2015 election Prince Dapo Abiodun contested the Senate under the platform of the APC and gave some facts, with respect to have graduated from the university of Ife in 1986 now Obafemi Awolowo University and also Kennesaw state university Atlanta Geogia, United state of America,1998 as his educational qualifications. Surprisingly, those facts are quite different from what he now stated in his gubernatorial form submitted to INEC for 2019 general election where he claimed he is a holder of West Africa School Certificate in his form CF001.
“Consequently, we are giving Prince Dapo Abiodun 48 hours within which to clear air and explain the reasons for this discrepancies as failure will leave us with no other option than to seek legal means for outright disqualification,” he said.
The IPAC Chairman further advised the National leadership of APC to present another candidate for the governorship election should in case Prince Dapo Abiodun is found guilty of the charges against him.
He said, “This is Ogun State and it belongs to everyone of us. We cannot allow anybody with fraudulent character to govern us in Ogun State. For anybody to contest for the office of the governor, he must come with clean hands”.
