Don’t be biased in your anti Corruption Crusade, NANS warns Buhari

The leadership of National Association of Nigerian Students, (NANS) has
charged the President Muhammadu Buhari to be unbiased in his anti corruption crusade and should as a matter of urgency kick off the war with some alleged rogues in his government.
The Nans PRO Comrade Adeyemi stated this during the protest while addressing the students speaking further, he said President Muhammadu Buhari has violated the country’s constitution for suspending Chief Justice of the federation, Justice Walter Onnoghen saying that this unpopular action of the President was tantamount to coup plotting

The students maintained that this unfortunate development was shocking, uncivilized, condemnable with capacity to aggravate tension ahead of the the general elections in February and March and therefore posing great threat to our growing democracy.

The students during the protest carried placards bearing different messages such as “Suspension of CJN is satanic and demonic” “Buhari, stop covering thieves around you in the name of loyalty” “We demand that Buhari apologize to Nigerians over CJN saga” among others.

NANS wondered why President Buhari seemed to be in a haste to remove the CJN when the case of corruption allegations levelled against him, the basis upon which the President acted was still before a competent court of law saying “this action of the president is no less self help which 1999 constitution does not make any provision for”

The students disclosed further that with Onnoghen’s suspension, the President has just in a subtle way suspended in part the judiciary arm of the government by illegally intimidating its highest figure and shamefully sending him away from office.

They have therefore called for the immediate reinstatement of the sacked CJN while due process and rule of law is allowed to run its due course in the alleged graft case against him.

The association wondered why the President had looked the other way since the embarrassing alleged bribery and corruption viral video of the governor of Kano State, Alhaji Ganduje, where he was seen collecting huge some of dollars surfaced on the internet adding that, President Buhari should tell the whole nation why he would rather rush to prosecute the oppositions but protect the thieves in his government
