Pandemonium broke out at the campaign rally of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abeokuta.
The campaign took a new twist when Ogun state governor, Ibikunle Amosun came on stage to campaign for the APC and Allied Peoples Movement (APM)
In response, former governor Aregbesola came on stage to oppose the governor, asking the people to vote for only the candidates of the ruling All Progressives Congress.
After Aregbesola started speaking, supporters of the APM verbally opposed him and it degenerated into to a rowdy session when Adams Oshiomhole, the APC national chairman addressed the crowd.
Supporters took laws into their hands and started throwing things at the APC leaders.
The Presidential rally of the APC for the re-election of President Mohammadu Buhari turned to a battle ground for the party as Allied People’s Movement, APM, supporters clashed with APC party faithfus at the rally.
The rally had a good number of party faithfuls from across the state and also APM supporters because of their adoption of the president as their presidential candidate.
Meanwhile, all APM supporters, who are also Amosun’s supporters did not want to see anything ‘Yellow’ which is Prince Dapo Abiodun’s logo, the Ogun APC governorship candidate.
It was gathered that suspected hoodlums went round the side of the occupied by Dapo Abiodun’s supporters unleashed terror on them, leaving many of them injured and also ensured they chased out of the stadium without the security operatives biting an eyelid.The left Dapo Abiodun supporters only at the mercy of their attackers.
The victims run for dear lives by scaling the barricade to avoid being killed by the attackers beat those they lay their hands upon and threw dangerous objects such as; stones and sticks at them.
The attackers, who were armed with weapons such as clubs and charms, pounced on anyone wearing yellow attire, or cap,the colour known with Abiodun and his supporters.
Many supporters of the APC were said to have sustained injuries.
