The Governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun has commended the peaceful conduct of the Governorship and House of Assembly elections in the state.
Abiodun made the comment shortly after performing his franchise at exactly 12:20pm at ward 3, unit 2, Ita Osanyin, Iperu (his hometown) in Ikenne local government of the state.
The Governorship candidate who commended the massive turn out of people , urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to be sincere and ensure a democratic process.
His words ” feel very great after the whole exercise. I haven’t seen the situation of things in other polling units but I am satisfy with the process at this polling unit”
“My advice is that the process should be democratic. They should not try to rig the election. We should respect our democracy and people should not create or engage in violence,” he added.
At his own poling unit , the Former Governor of the state, Otunba Gbenga Daniel , urged Governorship candidates in the state to accept the outcome of the election in good faith.
Daniel who spoke to Journalists shortly after casting his vote at Ward 12 unit 7 in Isote, Sagamu local government of the state, appealed to all the candidates to maintain peace even if defeated in the exercise.
He stressed that the expectation of the people from the incoming government is very high.
He said, “What I have seen, people have come out in large number to vote and people are full of expectations.
“I have also voted and I am also full of expectations.
“My appeal is that at the end of today , maybe tomorrow, collation will be properly done and a winner would be declared.
“For the winner and loser, they should accept so that our state and country can move forward”.
Daniel commended INEC for conducting a free and fair election in the state.
