OGUN SCHOOL FEEDING PROGRAMME: SUCCESS ATTRIBUTED TO MANAGERIAL SKILLS

Ogun Homegrown School Feeding programme has been described as the best in service delivery among other states in the country, of which success recorded could be attributed to managerial skills of the State Programme Manager.

The representative, MacArthur Foundation, Mr. Dayo Olaide made this known at the press briefing of Homegrown School Feeding Programme (HGSFP) support group, with the Ogun State HGSFP team, held at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

He pointed out that the State was able to achieve the feat due the leadership style of the State Programme Manager, Mrs. Tinuola Shopeju, describing her as an epitome of due process, who at all times, had an open door policy for Non-Governmental Organisations that in-turns give criticism, which had helped the programme to thrive in the State.

In the same vein, the Executive Director, Action Health Incorporated (AHI), Mrs. Adenike Esiet, said the State has been rated the best from the assessment report of the monitoring team that highlighted how transparent the programme was being run in the State, adding that Ogun School Feeding Programme had been adjudged to be very accountable.

In her remark, the Programme Manager Mrs. Tinuola Shopeju, noted that the Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) had created a landmark achievement in monitoring the programme of HGSFP in the State, adding that its tremendous success has made other States of the federation to visit Ogun State to understudy its operation.

‘’We do not have to rest on our oars; let us continue to work as team in order to achieve this success to its fullest. Going forward, we would be better than where we are’’, she advised.
