Students in government secondary schools in Ogun State have been charged to study hard in order to justify government huge investment on them and always be of good conduct so as to uphold the standard, which the State is noted for.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Olu Ola Aikulola, gave the advice while addressing students of Akin Ogunpola Model College, Akinale in Ewekoro Local Government Area of the State, who are currently writing the West African School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

Aikulola, while noting that the students could not afford to let the State government down, considering the enormous investment on them, said, ‘’this administration has continue to invest heavily on you, therefore, you have to reciprocate this gesture by coming out in flying colours in the ongoing examination. You have to study like you have never done before’’.

He said, as the first set of students in the school to write external examination, they have to give a good account of themselves to lay precedent for others coming behind them, admonishing staff of the College to redouble their efforts at taking the School to greater height, as government would not condone any form of idleness.

Responding, the Principal of the School, Mrs. Mojisola Adenowo, appreciated the PS for the visit, pledging that, both teaching and non-teaching staff of the school would put in extra efforts to ensure that the school remain a reference point in academic excellent in the country.
