Addressing newsmen on Friday at the College campus in Abeokuta, the Provost of the College, Dr Adetayo Ajayi said Senator Anosike and former President Obasanjo will be honoured with the commissioning of some projects named after them.
He said the institution will turn out another set of graduates which covers five academic sessions(2013-2018), with their number put at 8,777,which include full time, sandwich and part time.
He explained that 7,701 are of full time, while 234 from Sandwich and 842 from part time.
The Provost flanked by management staff of the institution, said the convocation will be the 24th edition since the establishment of the college in 1976, which commenced operation as Advance Teachers College, before its upgrade to Federal College of Education.
While explaining the delay in the convocation, he said it was as a result of logistics, assuring that, such delay will henceforth be thing of the past.
The Provost said the convocation is scheduled to hold on October 3, adding that number of events were also line up for the occasion which include; Health Awareness and Award/Cultural Night slated for September 30, while Thearter Arts presentation is to hold on October 1.
Ajayi said convocation lecture titled ‘Inclusive Education: Implications for Teachers Education Curriculum, Planning and Implementation in Nigeria’, will be delivered by Prof Olukoya Ogen of the Department of History and International Relations, Osun State University, Ikire on Wednesday October 2.
The Provost disclosed that on October 3, number of projects will be commissioned to be led by the former President Olusegun Obasanjo, whose administration established the Institution in 1976, as then the Military Head of State and Senator Emmanuel Anosike who had contributed immensely towards the development of the College . also speaking at the briefing the deputy provost of the college and the chairman of the 24th convocation ceremony DR R A Soyele commended the college provost for it untiring effort in moving the college forward and thereby rolls out the full activities of the events to newsmen .
