The Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, on Thursday, gave
assurances that more projects, with direct relevance to needy
communities would be provided within available resources so as to make
life more bearable and meaningful for residents.
The Governor, who was represented by his wife, Erelu Bisi Fayemi, made
this known in Ipoti-Ekiti, in Ijero Local Government area of the state
at the commissioning of the town’s Multi-Purpose Hall as well as a
block of classroom, as part of activities marking the one year in

present administration not to concentrate development in one
particular place, but spread them across the length and breadth of the
state in order to guarantee even development.
Besides, he said this would make all communities feel the impact of
government and dividends of democracy at the grassroots.
Fayemi said the state was gifted with people of intellect, and who are
always ready to advise as well as facilitate the initiation of such
projects for their communities.
He tasked the Ekiti State Community and Social Development Agency,
(EKCSDA) which is the body saddled with the responsibility of
anchoring such rural projects for government, to make sure projects
embarked upon are not only relevant to the yearnings of the people,
but also sustainable.
He particularly advised that projects recommended to government for
execution, are the exact ones requested by benefiting communities.
He also urged that the affected community leaders must endeavour to
monitor such projects and protect them.
The Governor explained that the idea behind building the classroom
blocks, in addition to the twin hall, was to further promote education
among children of school age.
According to him, the present administration accord high premium to
education, saying this accounted for why more schools were being built
and teachers well motivated.

The traditional ruler of the town, the Olupoti of Ipoti Ekiti, Oba
James Oladipo Kolade, commended the governor and his wife for their
love for people of the community, promising their continuing support
and cooperation for the administration in its quest to make the state
better than they met it.
Also speaking the SUBEB chairman, Prof Fransisca Aladejana,
represented by a Commissioner in the board, Mrs. Funke Fajobi, thanked
the governor for his support in lifting education at all levels.
Among dignitaries present at the commissioning were Hon. Ademola Ojo
representing Ijero Constituency, Hon. Abiodun Dada, Chairman Ijero
Local Government and Dr. Oluyemi Alatise of EKSCDA.
