A pan yoruba Social Cultural group YYF has gone out to condemn the
total closure of Nigeria’s border which has led to untold hardship to
Nigerian citizens and other neighbouring countries. The National
president of the Yoruba Youth Forum, YYF, Comrade Abiodun Olusegun
Bolarinwa stated this in an address with newsmen in Ibadan yesterday
.The view is sequel to the president Muhammadu Buhari led government
decision to close the nation pouous entry point in order to stem
illegal entry of goods.
But other African countries that have entered into trade agreements
with Nigeria, that is ECOWAS, have not taken it illegal. Ghana and a
few others, at present are contemplating of non patronization of Nigerian
goods and services.
Although, Breton Woods Institutions have been supportive of Buhari’s
administrations moves, this is not been viewed in a positive
Comrade Bolarinwa said that Nigeria’s economy is going backward under
the leadership of the APC had administration in the country. He said
that an average Nigerian cannot afford to eat three square meal. He
said that the suffering of Nigerian is getting out of hand.
He added the government has decried the masses of good governance
because of there selfish Interest. He said the Apc adminstration has
failed the people that voted for them
He further stated that YYF is not happy with the way and manner
president Buhari has been handling the issue of xenophobic attack on
Nigeria Africans living in South Africa. He advised the president not
to handle the issue with glove hands.
Comrade Bolarinwa maintained that Yoruba Youth Forum (YYF) is not
happy with the way youths are been treated in Nigeria. He said that
the youths are the future leaders and they should be given respect and
be involved in decision making process of the country.
It should be recalled that several African leaders and those in the
world at large have always harped upon this point, including former
president Olusegun Obasanjo. He said that leaders like former
president Olusegun Obasanjo has played combinable role for youths and
Nigerians at large.
Comrade Bolarinwa, called on the likes of former president Olusegun
Obasanjo and other well meaning world leaders that they should not
give up on the Nigerian project.
Comrade Bolarinwa said that APC lead administration in the country is
paying lip service to the welfare and development of youths in
Nigeria. He said that YYF on many occasion has raised alarm that
Nigeria youths and suffering because of the high rate of unemployment
