Ogun State College of Technology, (OGITECH) Igbesa, Ogun State is set to hold its 3rd Convocation ceremony as the management team is presently working round the clock to put finishing touches to infrastructural facilities of the institution, arrangements and activities.
A visit to the institution reveals the Rector, Engineer Dr. (Mrs.) Olufunke Olanike Akinkurolere and her management lieutenants are daily moving from one points to the other, inspecting projects and facilities to be used for some of the events, as well as the one slated to be commissioned during the Convocation.
Our impeccable source informed that the deplorable state of the roads to and fro Igbesa locates a front burner, adding that the Rector and her team are making contacts in order to put some palliatives measures in place in order to make them motorable for government officials and invited guests from far and near.
The graduating students and their families are eagerly and enthusiastically looking forward to the activities of the weeklong convocation ceremony which kicks off with a special Jumat Worship holding on Friday October 25 at the school’s Mosque. This will be followed by an interdenominational Service to be held at OGITECH Chapel on October 27.
The Convocation Lecture will be delivered by Professor Taiwo Edun of the Faculty of Education, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye, Ogun State. This will hold at OGITECH Multipurpose Hall. The lecture titled: “Entrepreneurship Versus Employability and the 21th Century Labour Market Challenge for Nigerian Youths,” is slated for October 28 at 12.00 prompt.
The Grand Finale of the 3rd Convocation will be on October 30 with the commissioning of the 2,000 capacity Lecture Theatre and the Convocation Ceremony which include: Award of Higher National Diploma, National Diploma and Presentation of Prizes. This will hold at the new OGITECH Multipurpose Hall.
The Grand Final of the Convocation Ceremony has the Executive Governor of Ogun State who is also Moderator of the College, Prince Dapo Abiodun as Special Guest Of Honour.
