Awopetu common for sport Ekiti

Ekiti People have been advised to allow homogeneity which bounded them
together as one entity, to reflect in their dealings, particularly
during the forthcoming Local Government Elections slated for 7th
December, 2019.
The Commissioner for Information, Tourism and Values Orientation and
Chairman, Election Sensitization Committee, Aare ‘Muyiwa Olumilua gave
the advice during the visit of the Committee to Ilejemeje and
Ado-Ekiti Local Government Areas, held at NULGE House in Ado-Ekiti.
The Chairman, who expressed optimism on the conduct of the Political
Stakeholders in the two Local Governments, pleaded for peace and urged
Ekiti people to exercise their franchise and as well vote for the
Candidates of their choice as proclaimed by the Governor of Ekiti
State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi.
The Director, National Orientation Agency, (NOA), who was represented
by the Deputy Director, (NOA) Mr. Bankole Fadahunsi, re-emphasized the
need for the people to conduct themselves peacefully as arrangements
have been concluded to give prizes to three most peaceful Local
Governments before, during and after the Elections.
The Representative of the Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, Chief Sola Olanrewaju
described Ekiti State as the only unique state in Nigeria and urged
the contestants alongside their followers to see themselves as one,
playing the game according to the rules.
Responding, the Representative of the Commissioner of Police in Ekiti
State, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mr. Faleyimu Benjamin, warned
that the Security Agents would be on ground to forestall the breakdown
of law and order.
Dignitaries at the Event include, the Commissioner for Information,
Tourism and Values Orientation, Aare ‘Muyiwa Olumilua, Representative
of the National Orientation Agency, Mr. Bankole Fadahunsi, Permanent
Secretary, Ministry of Information, Tourism and Values Orientation,
Dr. Adekunbi Obaisi, Representative of Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, Chief Sola
Olanrewaju and host of others.
It would be recalled that the visit of members of the Election
Sensitization Committee, set up by Governor Kayode Fayemi to all the
sixteen Local Government Areas was rounded off with visits to
Ilejemeje and Ado-Ekiti Local Government Areas.
