Ekiti govt distributes free JAMB forms to vulnerable, qualified admission seekers


The Ekiti State Government has distributed no fewer than 2,000 free
Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) forms to vulnerable but
qualified students and out of school youths across the 16 local
government areas of the state.
The wife of Ekiti State Governor, Mrs Bisi Fayemi, while flagging-off
the distribution of the forms to the beneficiaries in Ado-Ekiti said
that government would be relentless at ensuring that vulnerable
students are encouraged to further their education.
Erelu Fayemi in her remarks at the occasion said that the present
administration would continue to prioritise the education of Ekiti
youths for national development.
According to the governor’s wife, the beneficiaries were chosen having
obtained a minimum of six credit passes in West African Examinations
Council, (WAEC) or National Examinations Council of Nigeria (NECO) at
one sitting.
She assured that the Fayemi administration would leave no stone
unturned in preparing the future leaders of Ekiti with requisite
qualification to enable them improve on the solid foundation that is
being laid by the present government.
“N14 million had been committed to purchase the 2020 JAMB PINS as well
as creation of profile, provision of E-Training, JAMB online
registration and thumb printing exercise at no cost to the candidates.
“I urge the beneficiaries to reciprocate the gesture by being
committed to your studies and make sure you pass your JAMB
examination. You should also desist from acts capable of truncating
your future.”
In his remarks the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology,
Mr Foluso Daramola said that the distribution of the free JAMB forms
to the qualified youths shows how important is education and learning
to the state government.
He said that the state government was ready to make education in Ekiti
accessible to all and sundry irrespective of party and religious
