The National President Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria RTEAN Alhaji Musa Mohammad has appealed to Federal Ministry of Health to support them with corona virus detector machines, that will enable them to check passengers at the parks He said while answering questions from the press during the 11th annual general meeting of the association in Abeokuta the capital of Ogun State. He applauded president Buari for Bringing down the pump price as welcoming idea, it shows Mr. President feels the pulse of the masses, myself and my excos will look into what we can do in terms of transport fares” On corona virus, it is for we to provide awareness for the passengers, we are using this opportunity to request from the Federal Ministry of Health to support our members with detectors for checking the temperature of the passengers in every motor parks before boarding vehicles so that if we get any body with the trace, we can easily hand over such to Health officers, the President charged the new Ogun State executives of the Association led by the new Chairman, Oluomo Titilayo Akibu to be transparent in all their governance, advising them not have a special friend and avoid hear says that may cause disunity among members. The acceptance speech of the new Chairman for Ogun State Oluomo Titilayo Akibu was read by his State Secretary Chief Tiwalade Akingbade in which he stated his welfare packages. my plan is to promote and move our Association to the next level in Ogun State. We are keen to seeing our members prosper in their businesses we have chosen as a vocation. It is our goal to cooperate with the government of Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun, Governor of Ogun State to ensure that all our parks and garages are peaceful and orderly that will leave good experience of all commuters in the state.
It is to further our objectives to ensure that all accruable revenues get to the right channels.
We look forward to partner with the State government in fixing all the major bad roads in the state, a good road is a blessing to all road users, particularly to us the commercial bus operators”
“in response to the government’s call, we have interfaced with and educate our members to take their personal hygiene very seriously.
Also we have provided bottles of hand sanitizer and rolls of tissue for our drivers. We have instructed them to apply hand sanitizer on the commuters and wipe the doors and windows of their buses at each end of their journeys.
It is also on this background that we call on the ministry of Health to provide us protective wears like gloves, Handsanitizer and other materials on weekly basis to prevent the spread of this diseases called coronavirus COVID 19”
