MFM Will not Reopen this Sunday,Despite the Lockdown has been lifted


Some big churches in Nigeria which their headquarter is located in Lagos State South West Nigeria have announced that there won’t be church services on the 9th August, 2020 after the government lifted the lockdown order on worship centres.

The Nigeria government initially suspended religious gatherings in the county since March in other to reduce the spread of coronavirus.

The Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 allowed the reopening of worship centers in the country in the month of June, but Lagos State government disagreed to allow worship centers in the state to reopen due to increase in coronavirus cases.

A go ahead was later given for religious gathering to start on the 7th August, 2020.

But some churches in the state have come out on social media to announce that they are not ready to reopen.

The churches have their different reasons for such decisions, some said they need time to the place of worship for reopening in other to meet safety protocols of the federal government, others said they are waiting to hear from God before they open.

Here are the list of some of the churches that will not open on the 9th August, 2020 :


The leadership of Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries MFM, said that its members should go and gather together for service in all their church regions, branches or zones that are located in Lagos and Ogun states until the 13th September, 2020 as they want put on place preventive measures against against coronavirus and also follow all the safety protocols put on ground by the federal government, state government and NCDC
