Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi has said that Education and
Human Capital Development will continue to receive the priority of his
administration. Dr. Fayemi stated this at the annual conference of the National
Council for Adult Education (NNCAE) with the theme “Next level Agenda
for Adult Learning and Education (ALE) practice” held at the Ekiti
State University Ado- Ekiti.
The Governor explained that the theme of the conference was carefully
chosen to enable participants deliberate on the next level towards
enhancing adult education, more so now that the COVID -19 pandemic had
opened windows for new practices in the Education and Business
Governor Fayemi who was represented by the State Commissioner for
Education Science and Technology, Dr. Olabimpe Aderiye said that Ekiti
State government had recorded unprecedented giant strides in the area
of Adult and Non formal education within the past two years.
According to the Governor, some of the feats include providing
suitable platforms for Adult Education to thrive, purchase of free
JAMB forms for candidates of Ekiti State origin seeking admission into
various tertiary institutions across Nigeria and procurement of
teaching and learning materials for the adult learners among others.
Fayemi promised that government would continue to synergize with the
federal and local governments as well as all critical stakeholders to
ensure that the good intentions of Adult and Non formal education are
