As part of efforts to boost service delivery and efficiency in the
health sector, the Ekiti State Government has distributed laptop
computers to over 20 Medical Officers in the state.
The Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr. Oyebanji Filani
while presenting the laptop computers to the Medical Officers, said
the computers would facilitate accurate monitoring and evaluation of
data across all facets of health care delivery and enhance
productivity.
He disclosed that the state would soon commence routine training of
health workers as well as renovation of facilities and procurement of
new equipment and drugs across the state.
“It is no longer acceptable to be turned back from any of our
facilities for lack of drugs or vaccines. The drugs and solar
refrigerators recently distributed to facilities are to ensure
consistent availability at all times”, he said.
The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Human Services,
Mr. Jide Akinleye urged the beneficiaries to see the laptops as
motivation to be more dedicated to their duties, stressing that “to
whom much is given much is expected”.
Mr. Akinleye also appealed to all health workers in the state to
cultivate the habit of properly maintaining all health equipment
provided by government to prevent waste of resources.
Dr. Taiwo Akolawole and Mrs. Mercy Bade-Gboyega who spoke on behalf of
the House Officers, expressed appreciation to the State government for
the good gesture, noting that the development would motivate them for
better service delivery.
