The Ogun State Government has provided necessary logistic support to ensure a successful hosting of the 10th Gateway International Trade Fair holding from Friday, April 2, 2021 through Monday, April 12, 2021.

Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Mrs. Kikelomo Longe disclosed this during a press conference organised to flag-off the Fair, at the M.K.O Abiola Trade Fair Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, assuring that the Trade Fair would hold on a yearly basis to promote local and international trade.

Mrs. Longe said the Trade Fair with the theme, “Transforming Agriculture and Commerce in a Highly Competitive Global Market”, would help businesses, especially Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) tap the enormous benefits available in doing business.

She said as part of its efforts at ensuring effective partnership with Ogun State Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (OGUNCCIMA), the present administration in the State would improve on the upcoming Fair, affirming that challenges experienced during the 2018 Trade Fair had been addressed.

Longe added that the government had approved various requests from the body, including the perimeter fencing of the Trade Fair Complex, to ensure adequate security at the Complex, among other necessary logistics.

“More multinational companies and Small and Medium Enterprises have indicated interest in being a part of the Trade Fair. We are inviting different visitors from across the world because this edition will be truly world class”, the Commissioner stated.

Also speaking, the President, OGUNCCIMA, Alhaji Wasiu Olaleye said the 2021 Gateway International Trade Fair would be a platform to ventilate innovations and ideas in agribusiness, so that businesses could utilise the advantages available through free trade agreements on the African continent and the West African sub-continent.
