Ekiti First Lady sponsors 40 Public Servants for NABTEB.




Forty junior officers in the Ekiti State Civil Service have been
registered for the remedial programme of the National Business and
Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) to improve their career
The remedial programme, sponsored by the Wife of the Governor, Erelu
Bisi Fayemi, will allow the junior workers selected from all
Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to undergo three-month
training and sit for the NABTEB examination in May/June.
Erelu Fayemi, who flagged off the programme at the Conference Hall of
Adunni Olayinka Women Centre in Ado-Ekiti, urged the government to
invest more in workers’ capacity building in the public service in
order to facilitate the development of the country.
She urged the workers to see the training as an opportunity to reshape
their future and become leaders in their respective workspace.
“As a State we don’t have oil or gas but we have people. People are
greater resources, and to harvest that is to invest in them. We are
allowing them to shape the future,” she said.
The First Lady also thanked the Head of Service, Mrs Peju Babafemi,
for her ingenuity and love for developing Ekiti State Civil Service
under her leadership.
She explained that the idea for the programme emanated from the HOS
and the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, who
keyed into it to sponsor the selected candidates.
In her remarks, Mrs Babafemi, said the programme demonstrates the
interest of Governor Kayode Fayemi in the capacity building of public
She maintained that the programme is in line with the Beijing Platform
for Action (1995) submission, which recommended managerial,
entrepreneurial, technical and leadership training for women.
One of the beneficiaries, Mrs Babalola Olufunmi thanked the Governor’s
Wife for restoring their hope and promised to make the best use of the
opportunity given.
