FG visitation panel commends FCE Abeokuta on infrastructural development



The Federal Government’s Visitation Panel to Federal College of Education (FCE), Abeokuta on Wednesday commended the management of the institution on the numerous infrastructural development within the school.

Prof. Charles Ugwuanyi , Chairman of the panel, told newsmen after the end of the panel’s visit that Federal Government would continue to make colleges of education attractive to admission seekers.

He said the panel was in the college to assess the relationship between the institution, staff members, students and host community.

Ugwuanyi said the visit was to ascertain if Federal Government’s investments in the college, students’ welfare and academic growth, were intact, adding that the panel’s recommendation would help to add value to the institution.

“We have collected the required information from the school for government to know area of intervention.

“We gone through the school saw what the school did through the grant giving to them by government.

“The work we came here for started from 2011 to 2020 but the reports will be produced in two volumes, the first volume is 2011 to 2015 and second volume from 2016 to 2020.

“The school has a very large infrastructural facilities and the school is moving forward,” he said.

Dr Rafiu Soleye, the College Acting Provost, expressed optimism that the recommendation of the panel would be favourable.

Soleye, noted that the panel had been around for some weeks, noting that the institution had been following structures of government and due process.

“We are going to take to advise where the need arises , we are doing our best to achieve the goals and objectives of education in the country,” he said.
