The Ogun State House of Assembly member, representing Ketu II in Yewa North, Hon Wahab Abiodun Egungbohun has appealed to the state Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun to confirm Dr. Adeoye Odedeji as a substantive Rector of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta (MAPOLY).

Dr Odedeji who is currently the acting rector in the institution was appointed in 2019 by the state Governor.

Speaking to Journalists today in Abeokuta, the state capital, the lawmaker said there is need for Governor Abiodun to consider Odedeji , who is a Yewa man as the first Rector of the institution since it’s establishment.

Egungbohun who appreciated the State Governor for appointing former Rector, Dr. Adeola Odedina as the Commissioner for Agriculture who is from Ogun Central and also the former VC of Tai Solarin University of Education, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu as Commissioner for Education who is also from Ogun East.

Egungbohun therefore said, now is the best opportunity for Ogun West to be considered as the Rector of Mapoly, urging the Governor to confirm Dr. Adeoye, who, he said is qualified to be helms of affairs of the institution.

He explained that the appointment of the current Rector of the institution as substantive, would gladdens the hearts of the Yewa people.
