The State Commissioner for Information and Values Orientation, Mr.
Akin Omole, in a statement made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti on
Monday, said the State Government would continue to effectively deploy
all available security apparatus and work with relevant security
agencies to guarantee a safe environment for the people.

Urging the people to go about their normal businesses without fear of
intimidation from any quarter, Omole however emphasized the need for
citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity or
movement to relevant security agencies.

The Commissioner also urged the people to refrain from acts that may
breach the peace and other illegal activities, adding that such
disorderly conduct would be counter- productive and capable of
impeding efforts of Government to guarantee safety.

He expressed condolences to the Government and people of Ondo State on
the loss of lives in the horrendous terror attack.

The statement reads: “The Government of Ekiti State commiserates with
the Government and people of Ondo State over the vile attack and
extends condolences and prayers to the victims of the terror attack
and their families.

“Such act of terrorism is indeed an attack on the whole of our people,
values and development and should be treated as such.

“We urge all security agencies to be vigilant and take proactive
measures in warding off any such attack, while also urging the
citizens to remain calm and vigilant, as the state government would
continue to do its best in ensuring safety and security of lives,
properties and investments”.
