Indigenes and good people of Irete-Ijebu have elected pioneer executive members of Community Development Committee (CDC) that would stairs the development and growth of the town for the next three years.

The election of the committee which took place on the 24th of July, 2022 at Anowoneyo hall of Onirete of Irete palace, witnessed Otunba Dosumu Saheed Olamide emerged the Chairman of the committee.

Congratulating the new exco, the Onirete of Irete-Ijebu, Oba Awokoya Yesufu in his royal remarks implored them to see their election into the CDC as a call to serve.

The monarch urged the new exco to dedicate themselves, and work very hard and selflessly at ensuring growth and development of the town, promising to give the exco the necessary support.

In his acceptance speech, the new elected CDC Chairman, Otunba Dosumu Saheed appreciating the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, monarch and people of the town for the believe and trust repost in him, said that his exco would work towards improving the security situation of Irete-Ijebu.

According to the Chairman, “my sincere appreciation goes to the most supreme for His mercy and blessing over us, we cannot but continue to appreciate His Excellency Prince (Dr) Dapo Abiodun, the Executive Governor of Ogun State for his support at all times. So also, our Kabiyesi for his relentless efforts in ensuring that Irete is great and to all of us whom by one way or the order have partaken in the success recorded today. May God be with us all.

“Let me take this opportunity to congratulate the immediate past ICDA president Hon. Olumide Rafiu Adesanya for a very successful tenure and assure him that we are consolidating on his achievements and success. I also which to congratulate all the executives of the 39 newly registered and ICDA.

“My dear colleagues, I want you to know that your election into AACDC executive cum the the 40 CDA’s executive by this time in the history of our community is not by accident but it is because we are all destined to be a partaker in the new dawn of a new Irete.

“As I earlier refer to the exciting future of our AACDC, I wish to mention some of our intending programs which will include; improving on the security situation of the community, revisiting various committee reports by the past administration, engaging the youth and the women in all our programs, organizing a summit which we believe will facilitate our development”.

Otunba Dusumu further promised to enhance revenue drive of the town and put in measure and plans to ensure that Irete day become an annual event and continue to improve on the annual Ojude Oba festival, adding that the community could not isolate itself from the Ajose group hence, the need to continue to partner with neighboring communities. #
