ABEOKUTA – The residence of the embattled Speaker, Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olakunle Oluomo on Saturday became Mecca of sort as sympathizers stormed his Ifo residence to sympathize with him over his ordeal with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Recalled that, the speaker was picked up at the Murtala Muhammad Airport, Lagos on Thursday morning by EFCC officials after he allegedly failed to honour several invitation of the commission.
However, he has been released on Friday after spending one night at the EFCC office in Abuja for alleged stealing, forgery and financial misappropriation.
Oluomo’s Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam AbdulGhaffar Adeleye, who confirmed his release said the speaker was released on Friday.
Adeleye said, “My boss is at home, the public should disregard the rumour that he was taken to Abuja for questioning.”
But THE ENCOUNTER NEWS reliably gathered that various groups have continued to visit the Speaker’s house in Ifo local government area of the state.
Checks by our reporter revealed members of Christian Association of Nigeria(CAN) are among the early callers of sympathizers at his residence on Saturday morning.
Meanwhile, the public is expecting the Speaker to address journalists and clear the air on his arrest.
