ABEOKUTA – The three people abducted by suspected kidnappers in Ogun State on Wednesday have regained their freedom.
The three victims, one of whom is a Police Inspector were kidnapped at Wasinmi along Abeokuta – Lagos road in Ewekoro local government area of Ogun state by a group of kidnappers who were operating in military camouflage uniform.
The Police Public Relations Officers (PPRO) in the state, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi who disclosed this to newsmen on Friday said the victims were rescued following the directives of the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole to the command’s anti kidnapping unit and other tactical squads to move into the area and join forces with Ewekoro divisional headquarters in rescuing the victims.

Oyeyemi said upon the intensive pressure and aggressive trailing of the kidnappers, they were left with no alternative other than releasing their captives.
He added that, the victims regained their freedom at about 9:45 pm on Thursday and have since been reunited with their families.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police CP Lanre Bankole has directed that no stone should be left unturned in ensuring that the kidnappers were all arrested and brought to book.
