Police, Customs Set For Showdown At Ogun SWAN/Security and Safety Cup Final

.....as NSCDC tackle TRACE Corps in Semi-final

ABEOKUTA – The football teams of Nigeria Police and Nigeria Customs Service in Ogun State will clash today (Saturday) at the final of 2nd SWAN/Security and Safety Cup at the MKO Abiola International Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta.

The Police Machines defeated their age-long arch-rivals, NSCDC Rangers at the Semi-final to book a place in the final with Nigeria Customs Service team who thrashed TRACE Corps 3-nil in the second semi-final match played last week.

Recall that NSCDC Rangers pip Police Machines 1-nil in the final of the 2021 edition of the Ogun SWAN/Security Cup.

However, the Saturday final between Police Machines and Nigeria Customs Service will produce new Champions for the competition.

In a press release signed by the SWAN Secretary in the state, Michael-Azeez Ogunsiji, the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun will attend the final as the Special Guest of Honour, while former Nigeria International, Chief Segun Odegbami, MON is the Special Guest at the event.

Other invited guests are: the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, AIG Olusola Subair, Rtd, Heads of Security agencies in the state, Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu, Chairman, Remo Stars Football Club, Otunba Kunle Soname and Towulade of Akinale, Oba Olufemi Ogunleye is the Royal father of the day.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) will take on TRACE Corps in the 3rd place final of the competition beginning from 2pm at the mainbowl of the MKO Abiola Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta.

The SWAN Secretary, therefore called on members of the public to throng en mass the stadium to cheer the security operatives to victory on Saturday.
