ABEOKUTA – A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, Oluyemi Adesegun (Adeland) on Sunday led about 10,000 youths of Ijebu-Igbo in Ijebu North local government area of Ogun state to mobilization rally for the re-election of Governor Dapo Abiodun and Presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The youths who defied the scorching sun marched through Itowo down to Odo Ramisegun enroute Isale-Itowo to Japara, Ojowo and Girls Grammar School.
The youths armed with different solidarity banners also passed through Atikori market, four roads, Oke-Sopin, Molusi, Odo Botun, Oke-Agbo, Ita-merin, Labaeka in Oke-Sopin, Iyana Orimolusi palace, Garage and ended the rally at the party secretariat, Station in Ijebu Igbo.

Addressing journalists after disembarking at the party secretariat, the Convener of the group, Mr. Oluyemi Gbenga Adesegun declared that the rally was to declare support for the reelection of Governor Abiodun’s second term and in appreciation of the good works he did in the local government.
Adeland as fondly called highlighted that, the governor had executed not less than 82 projects in the local government which deserve their support and commendation.
He equally declared that Governor Dapo Abiodun would be reelected in 2023 with or without the support of his predecessor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun.
Amosun had openly endorsed Biyi Otegbeye of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) against Abiodun who running on the platform of APC, the party which the former governor also belongs to.
But Adesegun said Amosun’s threat cannot deny Abiodun reelection.
The former House of Representatives aspirant noted that Abiodun had achieved so much in the three years, but chose not to be a “noise maker.”
“No one asked him (Amosun) to work for Dapo Abiodun. With or without him, Dapo Abiodun will be reelected. His achievements will earn him reelection.
“Dapo Abiodun is not a noise maker. He is a silent achiever. He has done will and Ogun residents are ready to re-elect him next year,” he said.
He expressed the youths’ readiness to deliver about 2 million votes for the APC presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Abiodun in next year’s elections.
Adesegun said “From Ijebu North to other 19 LGs in Ogun State, I can assure you that we deliver more than two million votes. All those who have never voted in the past elections, because of what Dapo Abiodun has done for us in Ijebu North, they are all ready to cast their votes for APC.
“All the youths in Ijebu Igbo have come out today for a rally in support of Governor Dapo Abiodun. He is a transformer and we have enjoyed a number of projects executed by his government in Ijebu North LG.
“Only in Ijebu North with three years, the governor has initiated about 82 projects. That is why we feel he deserved a second term and we have come out en mass to campaign for his reflection.
“Not only him, our presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed deserves all our support to emerge President because he is one of our own. He has done well in Lagos where vast majority of Nigerians consider as a second home, and he will dothe same at the Federal level if given a chance.”
