The Executive Chairman, Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr. Femi Majekodunmi disclosed this during an interview with journalists in Abeokuta, saying the projects were done through the 2014-2017 Intervention project Fund, made available by the State government.

Dr. Majekodunmi highlighted the achievements of SUBEB to include, procurement of eight project vehicles, construction of hostels and toilet facilities, erection of fences for staff quarters, equipping of e-library across the 20 Local Government Areas, among others, while 76 ultra-modern toilet facilities with borehole across Public Primary Schools in the State were ongoing under the year 2015 – 2018 UBEC Special Needs Projects, to enhance service delivery.

He added that “the Dapo Abiodun led-administration has procured and supplied 267 Sets of ECCDE (Early Childhood Care Development and Education) Plastic Furniture, 8,800 two-seater desks and benches, 3,900 two-seater desks and benches for junior Secondary Schools’ students, as well as 2,395 Teachers’ furniture for both Public Primary and Junior Secondary Schools”.

According to SUBEB boss, ‘’before the present administration came on board, the infrastructural facilities in many of the public schools were dilapidated, pupils and teachers’ furniture were virtually not available, and this necessitated the construction and rehabilitation of over 1,474 classrooms to improve the standard of education in both public primary and junior secondary schools in the State’’.

SUBEB boss noted that Dapo Abiodun’s administration was committed to repositioning basic education in the State in line with functional, accessible and technology-driven education policy of the government, adding that the Board was working relentlessly to deliver its core mandate in the education sector.

The Chairman affirmed that the State government had ensured regular payment of monthly running cost to 1,566 schools for smooth administrations, saying the State recorded great achievement in training and re-training of 8,060 Basic Education Teachers, Headteachers and Education Officers.
