The Senior Special Assistant to the Ekiti State Governor on Community
Communications, Mrs Mary Oso Omotosho has reiterated the commitment of
Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s government to prioritizing the welfare of
Ekiti citizens and residents regardless of their status.
She made this known during an engagement with the leadership of people
with disabilities under the aegis of Joint National Association of
Persons With Disabilities in her office in Ado Ekiti.
Mrs Omotosho said the meeting was part of her series of engagement
with critical stakeholders who have been mapped under different
categories of communities.
The Governor’s aide also reiterated the commitment of Governor
Oyebanji’s administration to the welfare of people with disabilities
in the state, stressing that the state Governor is accessible to all
Ekiti people irrespective of class .
She said Governor Oyebanji does not take matters of people with
disabilities for granted ,hence their inclusion in the communication
engagement plan of the government.
Earlier, the State chairman of the Joint National Association of
People with Disabilities, Mr Owolabi applauded the SSA for including
them in her stakeholders engagement plan and pledged their total
support for the Governor Biodun Oyebanji administration .
Mr Owolabi added that the state government should consider them for
employment opportunities which would as well put food on their tables
and better their lots.
The Chairmen of the cluster groups under the JNAPWD ; the
blind,Albinos,deaf among others admonished Mrs Omotosho to use her
good office to enlighten the people of the state to shun
discrimination against people living with disabilities and treat them
fairly.
