The Special Adviser on Media and Strategy to the Governor of Ekiti
State, Mr. Yinka Oyebode has charged Information Officers to redouble
their efforts by ensuring adequate and effective publicity of policies
and programmes of the state government.

Oyebode gave the charge at the weekly editorial meeting of the
Information Officers from the State Ministry of Information and Values
Orientation; saying that the public must always be kept abreast of all
the activities of government since the current administration is on
board to serve the people.

The Adviser who also doubles as the Chief Press Secretary to the
Governor expressed the readiness of the state government to provide
both on-the-job training and basic equipment for them to discharge
their duty of image making for the government.

He disclosed that the Biodun Oyebanji-led administration is poised to
embark on the renovation of the old secretariat buildings to make them
more conducive for the workers.

While emphasizing on standard and quality news management, the Chief
Press Secretary implored the Information officers to work more on
their writing skills and ensure proper editing of their news stories.

Oyebode, at the meeting, constituted a 7-member committee to look into
the resolutions arrived at during the meeting and work out a modality
for the training of the officers.

Speaking earlier, the Deputy Director, Information Services
Department, Mr. Charles Ademolaju appreciated the Chief Press
Secretary for attending the editorial meeting and to give them rays of
hope on matters affecting staff of the ministry.
