In a bit to ease the ill health burden of some residents of Ekiti
State, the State Government has disbursed the sum of Twenty Eight
Million Naira (28,000,000.00) for persons in need of Medical Care.
Addressing the gathering, the Wife of Ekiti State Governor Dr Olayemi
Oyebanji stated that the gesture was part of the promises made by the
governor to the people of Ekiti State that prosperity of all and
Sundry remains his utmost priority.
Dr Oyebanji said that through the programme that many families would
receive a helping hand and reprieve from hardship, occasioned by
various health challenges.
“I would like to encourage all beneficiaries of this grant to remain
optimistic, comply with the medical personnel, do whatever is within
their ambit to ensure good recovery and most importantly remain
grateful to God for gift of life because as they say, where there is
life, there is hope”. The wife of the governor advised.
Earlier in his opening remarks, the Commissioner for Health and Human
Services Dr Oyebanji Filani disclosed that the money would be
disbursed to 38 individuals, grouped into three grant categories
namely persons who are currently undergoing treatment, persons who
require specific treatment that is not available in the state but yet
to receive them and persons who require treatment outside Ekiti State.
Dr. Filani explained that the program has overtime restored joy and
granted many a new lease of life assuring that the current
Administration would continue to prioritize the sustainance of social
investment programmes that would bring succour to the vulnerable
segment of the society as well as people living with disability.
The Commissioner urged the citizens of the state to prioritize their
health, do medical check regularly and eat adequately in order to stay
healthy.
The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health and Human Services
Pharmacist Olabisi Arogundade appreciated Governor Biodun Oyebanji for
his continuous support for the health sector of Ekiti and his people-
oriented programmes. Pharm Arogundade charged the beneficiaries to
play those roles within their control towards restoration of their
health.
One of the beneficiaries Mr Adedamola Oludele who spoke on behalf of
other beneficiaries thanked the state government for coming to their
aid at their very critical time of need and prayed for the success of
the Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji led Administration.
