The late Oloye Olatoyese Olagoke Lasile has been described as a good man and God sent to the people of Orunto Owu and Egba in general through his philanthropic gesture and service to humanity.

The children, family members and friends who made this know to newsmen in Abeokuta, after the burial ceremony organized for him to celebrate his life at age 72, also appreciated the support he gave to the needy in his community.

According to the Baale of Orunto, under Abeokuta North Local Government, Alhaji Dauda Oyewusi, the late Oloye Olagoke Lasile was the head of the family who impacted the whole town and always put smiles on the faces of the people.

” Rain storm destroyed our homes some years back and my late brother came to our rescue by supporting us with cash to rebuild our houses. Also, he helped the less privileged and widows in various communities, paid school fees of many orphans to further their education and fed the poor in the society. He will be greatly missed” he said.

Speaking earlier, Mr. Kolade Lasile, thanked his late father for the good upbringing of all the eight children, describing him as a very disciplined man, who loved to farm and very kind to his people” Oloye Lasile was a man of integrity, a man of honour who has touched many lives positively. In 2011, National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools, Ogun State, gave my dad an award of recognition for Children Development and this shows the level of help he rendered to people when he was alive. I missed him so much”

On his part, Mr. Joel Oladayo Lasile said many people gathered to celebrate his late father who was a great and amazing man” My dad made sure he educated all his children and provided them with lots of opportunities. He was a good community leader who gave a piece of himself to everyone. I want others to emulate him, always look out and support your people as my father did and that is why he was being blessed by God while he was alive”

Earlier in his sermon, Reverend A. A Akinyode of Freeman Methodist Cathedral, Ogbe, Abeokuta, called on everyone to move closer to God, do His will and help people around them, saying that, it was the works that would determine where a person would go after death.

The highlight of the event was the gathering of family, friends and who is who in the society, at a reception organized by the family. Some of the Dignitaries were Hon. Olumide Osoba, Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Adebayo Ayorinde, Chairman, Abeokuta North Local Government, Hon. Igbalaye Wasiu, Hon. Tobi Doregos, Hon. Afees Balogun, Hon. Tunde Aleshinloye- Williams among others.
