The Federal Government through the National Economic Council, Implementation Monitoring Committee (NEC- IMC) has given credit to the various people-oriented policies, programmes, and interventions of the Prince Dapo Abiodun led-administration in the State, describing them as an attestation of good governance.

The NEC-IMC, was set up in response to the negative growth of the economy experienced globally in the year 2006, tasked with monitoring the implementation of the 17 adopted NEC Resolutions, and physical verification of projects embarked on by Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of government, towards accelerated socio-economic and political developments through strong inter-governmental partnerships.

Speaking with Journalists in Iperu-Remo, after rounding off the field assessment visit to infrastructural development sites embarked upon by the MDAs of government, the leader of the delegation, who is an Assistant Director in the Federal Ministry of Budget and National Planning, Mr. Bala Giade said the tour of projects in Ogun State was in tandem with the Muhammadu Buhari administration’s drive for continuous evaluation towards an effective feedback mechanism.

Giade said, ‘’it is therefore important for the team to monitor and evaluate the implementation status of NEC Resolutions in a cost-effective and citizen-centered manner, while gaining insight into the level of implementation and service delivery at the community level’’.

He added that part of the mandate of the committee was to monitor the implementation of the National Executive Council (NEC), adopted 71 resolutions across eight thematic areas which include, Agriculture, Solid Mineral, Investment, Industrialisation and Enabling Monetary Policy, Infrastructure and Services, Investing in People, Revenue Generation and Fiscal Stability, Security of State and Beyond.

Earlier in her address, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Budget and Planning, Mrs. Olufunmilayo Dada revealed that the present administration in the State had put in place strategic mechanisms and institutionalised framework such as the Enactment of the Fiscal Responsible law 2020, Public Procurement Law 2020, Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF), among others, saying the interventions had enabled realistic progression of the State’s fiscal sustainability plan for improved revenue generation.

Some of the infrastructural project sites visited were new road constructions at Kemta-Somorin road in Abeokuta, Molipa Expressroad in Ijebu-Ode, Mojoda-Lagos-Epe Expressway and Flyover, Housing projects like Prince Cot Estate, Itanrin, Ijebu-Ode, Kobape Housing Estate, Laderin Housing Extension and Newly constructed Primary Health Centers( PHC) in Iperu, Sodeke PHC, as well as renovated ones in Imodi-Imosan, Ijebu, Mobalufon PHC Odogbolu, and Ogun Agro Cargo Airport in Iperu and many more.
