JOSLAEC MD, Soyoye congratulates Abiodun on re-election

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has condemned the recent clashes between rivalry cult groups that left some people injured in the Sagamu Local Government Area of the State.

The Governor said this during an on-the-spot assessment of the scene of the incident, accompanied by the State Commissioner of Police, Yomi Oladimeji and the Special Adviser on Security, AIG Olusola Subair, stressing that the unfortunate occurrence could have been averted.

Governor Abiodun, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi commended the State Police Commissioner for being proactive, applauding the inter-agency collaboration that brought about normalcy to the area.

He sympathised with the family of the people who sustained various injuries and promised to put in place more administrative efforts to strengthen security, peace and tranquillity across the State, assuring that government would deploy more military forces to prevent such occurrences.

The Governor, who later appreciated Seriki Fulani and the hospitals’ management for quickly coming to the aid of the victims, said ‘’anybody, nobody is too big to tame when it comes to the issues of security. We will begin to see that, in the meantime, everybody should go about their normal business, this is not an ethnic issue, it is just sporadic shooting by cult groups. I want to assure you that all that are concerned with this latest cult attack would be brought to book’’.

In his reaction, CP Oladimeji said the command had discovered that the rival cult group engaged in supremacy battles, noting that investigations on the incident were ongoing to get to the root of the matter.

Speaking, two of the survivors, a Police Officer and a trader, Christian Odu, and Dan Sokoto respectively, lauded the prompt intervention of the State government, Police Command and Seriki Hausa of Sagamu, among others.
