A seasoned politician and former councillor in Abeokuta South Local Government of Ogun State, Hon. Olayinka Abiodun Adegun, has declared his intention to contest for the position of Executive Chairman in the local government.
Hon. Adegun, member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) made the official declaration ceremomy yesterday at his Ward 10( ijeun/ Iporo) in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
The event was attended by prominent political leaders from the ward, including the Ward Chairman. Hon. Sodiya Moshood, Hon. Muda Odebiyi, immediate past supervisor for inflammation Abeokuta South, Hon. Yahyah Akano, former Abeokuta South Legislator, Hon. MA Lateef. Special Assistant to the State Governor on Agriculture and food security. Hon. Sowunmi Olanrewaju popularly known as (LASEM) amongst others.
While speaking to journalists shortly after the declaration ceremomy, Hon. Adegun said his vision is to transform Abeokuta South.
He promised to deliver his vision and manifesto through a transparent and accountable governance system, ensuring that the needs of the people in Abeokuta South are prioritized and met.
Hon. Adegun who equally boasts of his experience said he has a proven track record of delivering results as a former councillor and has a deep understanding of the needs of the people.
According to him “I am ready to take the reins and lead Abeokuta South into a new era of development.”
“My experience, vision, and determination make me the best candidate for this position. I promise to work tirelessly to deliver on my promises and make Abeokuta South a model of excellence in local government.
He therefore said he’s focusing on improvements in local healthcare delivery, government/CDA initiatives, farm/business/employment initiatives, road maintenance, education, industrial borehole initiatives, street lighting among others.
